Personal post. This happened yesterday and it made me so happy I decided to blog about it. Remember that in the coming weeks I will also be posting chapters from my novel. My goal is to start at the first of March. I'll keep you posted. ;)

"Elizabeth can count to Flee!"
Disclaimer; this is an 'online journal post' so if you have a problem with those, you have been warned.
This morning I was giving Elizabeth her "baff" and while she was playing with her various foam letters and numbers she picked up a one.
"A" she said with a big partly white smile.
"That's a one sweetie" said smiling back.
"Two, Flee!" she said immediately. For a second I just stared at her in amazement (something that happens frequently).
"Good job sweetie!" I said with as much enthusiasm as sheer delight can afford.  "You can count to three!"
We have never really practiced counting so I attribute her genius to the Signing Time videos she watches often. She can also sign E, and A, and knows a few more letter signs that she cannot do herself. She knows a lot of sign language and it is helpful. This morning she needed a diaper change and didn't want one. I tried talking sweetly to her but she got upset anyway. Before I was the task was complete she looked at me, extended her hands out and shook them at me while saying 'Un' twisting your hands simultaneously is the sign for all done. Needless to say I was smiling about that one as well. What a little bundle of joy.
