I confess I forgot to write yesterday and since Elizabeth is already awake I chose to post something I wrote a few years ago. This is a poem I dedicated to my parents and the profound influences they have been and still are in my life. I love them very much.
                                             “A Promise From Above”

From the time that I was very small,
I have never had cause to worry at all.
About the love my family has for me,
It’s all around its plain to see.
But mom and dad I take this time,
To tell you something, in rhyme.
That I have notices through the years,
Watching through laughing eyes, or tears.
You are the perfect example of a love with out end,
True eternal lovers and best friends.
I know by what I see in you,
What I will look for in my love true.
Daddy you show me how I want to be loved,
The way you cradle my mother, as a gift from above.
Mommy you teach me in every way,
How I want to cherish my children someday.
And together you are the greatest team,
Each day showing the others and me.
We watch you, we see the endless love and trust,
Mommy, Daddy, I know you love us.
So I promise you now, what you promise each day,
In every word and action, in every way.
I promise to take these testimonies of God and family,
And hold them forever deep inside of me.
You give us a promise of your testimonies, and love,
A promise that could only come from above.
